What happens when you call

One phone call. We take care of everything else.

Losing someone is one of the hardest moments a family ever goes through. From the first phone call to the moment we return the ashes to you, we handle every step with care — so you don't have to figure any of it out alone. The whole process typically takes two to three weeks.

The five steps at a glance

A simple, dignified process

You don't need to know what to do, or who to call, or what to say. You just need to pick up the phone. We will be there.

  1. 1

    We're here when you call

Day or night, you're not alone. The moment you call, a real person will listen, then gently take you through what happens next.

  2. 2

A trusted independent funeral director near you brings your loved one into their own care — close to home, with dignity and respect.

  3. 3

We take the paperwork off your hands

  4. 4

    A quiet, dignified cremation

A simple, respectful affordable cremation at a local crematorium close to home — carried out with the same care you would give yourself.

    Bringing them back to you

When the time is right, the ashes are returned to you — gently, personally, at the pace that suits your family.

Each step, in detail

Every step, in full

Here is exactly what we do from the moment you call to the moment the ashes are home with you. No jargon. No hidden steps. No surprises.

  1. 1

One phone call. Day or night.

Call us on 0333 242 1405 and you will reach a real person who has done this many times before — never a chatbot, never a switchboard. They will listen first, then gently take some basic details and explain what needs to happen next, at your pace and in plain English. There is no obligation, no rushed decision, no script to follow. From that first call, we begin to take care of everything for you.

  2. 2

Your loved one brought into local care

An independent local funeral director near you — personally chosen by us, accredited by NAFD or SAIF, and known for the way they look after families — collects your loved one with quiet respect. They are then cared for in that funeral director’s own funeral home, with full professional mortuary facilities, close to where you live. Your loved one stays nearby. They are never transported across the country to a centralised hub.

  3. 3

We handle every piece of paperwork

Cremation paperwork is more involved than most people realise — the Medical Certificate of Cause of Death, the Medical Examiner review, the registration of the death, and the cremation forms all need to be completed in the right order. We coordinate all of it on your behalf, working directly with the hospital, the GP, the Medical Examiner and the registrar so that you do not need to chase anyone or worry about getting anything wrong.

  4. 4

A simple, dignified cremation, close to home

The cremation takes place at a local crematorium — usually within a short drive of where the family lives. Your loved one is taken there with care, in a proper funeral vehicle, by people who do this with respect every day. The standard affordable cremation is unattended; if, before the cremation, you decide you would like a brief moment with immediate family present, the local funeral director can arrange that for an appropriate additional fee. Just mention it when you call and we will talk it through.

  5. 5

We bring the ashes back to you

Within fourteen to twenty-one days of the cremation, the ashes are returned to you — gently and personally. You can have them delivered to your home, or collect them from the local funeral director when you are ready. If you would rather they were scattered with care at the crematorium, we will arrange that on your behalf. There is no time pressure. Whatever feels right for your family is right.

Whenever you are ready

One phone call is all it takes.

You don't have to have everything figured out. You don't even need to know what to ask. Just call us — and we will gently take it from there.
