The honest read

Why we are not the cheapest — and why that matters

You can get a cremation in the UK for £849. We could match that price if we wanted to. We choose not to, because the £650 between £849 and £1,499 pays for things that genuinely matter to families once they understand them.

The cheapest UK direct cremation providers operate a centralised model. When someone dies, the company collects them and drives them to one large mortuary — sometimes hundreds of miles from where the family lives. The body is kept there, processed there, and cremated at a “super-crematorium” attached to that facility. The same coffin design is used for everyone. The same vehicle. The same logistics route. The headline price is attractive because the operation runs on scale. The care your loved one receives, however, is industrial.

We don't do that. Every £1,499 affordable cremation we arrange is delivered by an independent local funeral director — vetted by us, accredited by NAFD or SAIF, with their own funeral home, their own mortuary facilities, their own vehicles, and their own trained staff. They are based in the same town the family lives in. They know the local crematorium, the local register office, the local hospital bereavement team. Your loved one stays close to home throughout.

That is the difference between an affordable cremation and a cheap one.Affordable means a fair price for proper care, with no hidden fees and nothing skipped. Cheap means the lowest possible headline number, with the consequences hidden in what isn't included — a cardboard urn instead of a proper one, a third-party crematorium the provider has no relationship with, a coffin design built for scale rather than dignity.

Affordable, never cheap. £1,499 all-inclusive. Maximum £1,749 with Priority Care if collection is from a home, hospice or care home.
